Speed-date event of the 4TU+.High-Tech Materials Ideation Lab
Students and Researchers connect at the 4TU+.High-Tech Materials Ideation Lab speed-date event
Last week, the 4TU+.High-Tech Materials Ideation Lab brought together students and industry-minded researchers for an energetic speed-date event focused on the future of high-tech materials and innovative technologies.
The event marked the start of the Ideation Lab, a programme that enables students to work together with researchers and explore how cutting-edge scientific developments can be translated into real-world applications with market potential.
Building on the success of earlier 4TU. Ideation Lab initiatives, where interdisciplinary teams combined creativity and technical expertise to address complex challenges, the 4TU+ High-Tech Materials Ideation Lab continues this collaborative approach. The speed-date session provided participants with an opportunity to meet, exchange ideas, and discover potential matches for this year's progamme.
Throughout the event, a unique mix of knowledge, curiosity, and ambition came together. Researchers presented innovative developments in materials science, while students explored how these technologies can create value.
The Ideation Lab offers students a unique opportunity to contribute to cutting-edge research while still pursuing their studies. By working closely with researchers, participants gain insight into innovative technologies and help identify practical applications and promising market opportunities.
As new teams begin to take shape following the speed-date event, the foundation has been laid for another round of collaborations. Based on the interactions and preferences from both sides, teams are formed and confirmed by 23 June.

The 4TU+.High-Tech Materials Ideation Lab is a 4TU programme connecting researchers with entrepreneurial students to valorise scientific innovations in High-Tech Materials.
