In January 2019, UT established “Engineering for a Resilient World” as one of the five strategic themes. During the weekend of 26, 27, and 28 November, the fourth edition of the Hackathon for Good will occur. This edition is hosted by the city of The Hague and organized by The Hague Tech, in close collaboration with the Hague’s innovation ecosystems.

On 4 November, the Risk & Resilience Festival will take place on the campus of the University of Twente. Academics, professionals and students will share research results, knowledge, ideas and experiences with each other in the field of risk and resilience. What can we learn from the current circumstances? What are we going to do about it and what should we do now?

The University of Virginia, Virginia State University, and the Commonwealth Center for Advanced Logistics Systems (CCALS) will host the Eighth International Engineering Systems Symposium (CESUN 2021) October 10-12, 2021. The symposium will be held in person in Charlottesville, Virginia, although there is a virtual option for those who cannot travel.

Information and communication technologies (ICT), including artificial intelligence, internet of things, and mobile applications, can be utilized to tackle important societal challenges, such as the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. While they may increase societal resilience, their design, functionality, and underlying infrastructures must be resilient against disruptions caused by anthropogenic, natural and hybrid crises. In order to research challenges, designs, and potentials of interactive technologies, the 2nd Workshop on Mobile Resilience: Designing Mobile Interactive Systems for Crisis Response investigates the space of mobile technologies and resilient systems for crisis response, including the application domains of cyber threat and pandemics response.

ISNGI 2021 provides a platform for infrastructure systems research and practice, especially for transdisciplinary research which seeks to conceptualize, enact and model an integrative approach and make a system-of-systems view to infrastructure operational.

The Safety and Security Science Group at TU Delft are organizing a 2-day workshop about "Process Safety and Asset Integrity Management in the Digital Age", with a special session on Resilience in the process industry.

As a part of the fourth edition of Hackathon for Good The Hague, we are organizing the second edition of the Challenges for Good fest on the 8th of July 2021.

In these digital lectures a professor, a student and an entrepreneur will update politicians on the latest technological developments, from medical technology and agriculture & food to sustainable mobility and key technologies.

In June 2020 the joint ESSA / DeSIRE Summer School will take place in Wageningen.
