Erwin Nugraha

I am a postdoctoral researcher at the University of Twente, Netherlands and a senior research fellow at the Resilience Development Initiative, Indonesia. My broader research focuses on the politics and governance of climate change adaptation, urban environmental justice and planetary decolonisation. My current research involves evaluating systemic adaptation in water-related risks and working with diverse regional practitioners in the North Sea Region to test and experiment a whole-system approach to climate change adaptation. I was one of the recipients of the Allianz Climate Risk Research Award in 2017.

My involvement within the 4TU Centre for Resilience Engineering is to conduct a research on transformational adaptation to climate change in the context of coastal urban areas. The aim of the study is to critically evaluate and examine societal mechanisms of transformation in climate adaptation in response to the intensifying climate crisis.

The Centre has an important role to response to diverse topics of resilience with its transdisciplinary community of researchers, collective expertise and educational platform in order to accelerate societal and transformative resilience.

I was a Postdoctoral researcher in the 4TU.DeSIRE programme.
