Study Group Mathematics with Industry Â

The Study Group Mathematics with Industry (SWI) is a combined industrialâacademic week-long workshop sponsored by NWO. Roughly seventy mathematicians work in groups on problems submitted by companies. Companies present a selection of problems on Monday. The participants devote the entire week to studying these problems in smaller groups, and presents their results on Friday.
SWI is ideal for companies that are new to cooperation with academia. The event is often a first step towards a fruitful long-term collaboration between companies and academia.
Program-outline:
Monday morning: presentation of open problems by companies
Monday afternoon: initial modelling discussions of problem owners with participants
Tuesday - Thursday: whole day sessions of the teams to work on the problems. Meanwhile the problem owners are contacted when needed.
Friday morning: final presentation of the outcomes
After the modelling week: writing of two types of reports: a. popularized version for a broad audience, b. scientific reports containing the mathematical approaches and the conclusions.

NMC 2019

We are organising a mini-symposium during the annual congress of the Royal Dutch Mathematical Society (KWG), which is organized in close collaboration with Platform Wiskunde Nederland (PWN) and NWO. The mini-symposium will on the one hand increase the visibility of 4TU.AMI, as it is in parallel with competing sessions by the gravity programs Networks and QSC (QuSoft), and cluster sessions (pairs of clusters organize mini-symposia, inspired by the Sectorplan Beta). On the other hand, the mini-symposium will highlight an important new development in computational science and engineering, namely the concept of digital twins, and the associated use of machine learning connected to data. We would like to emphasize the mathematical aspects of this development, and will concentrate on neural networks in this mini-symposium, as this is at the basis of this new development.
Equadiff 2019

The Equadiff conferences are a series of international meetings devoted to the field of differential equations in the broadest sense. Spread all over Europe, recent locations include Bratislava (2017), Lyon (2015), Prague (2013), Loughborough (2011), Brno (2009), Vienna (2007), Bratislava (2005), and Hasselt (2003).Â
The 2019 edition will be hosted by Leiden University, the oldest university in The Netherlands. The meeting will take place in the Hooglandse Kerk (completed in 1500) and the Kamerlingh Onnes Building, where the world's first liquid helium was made in 1908.
The goal of the conference is to bring together world-wide experts from the broad areas of differential equations and dynamical systems, focussing both on theory and applications

Model Order Reduction Summer School (MORSS 2019)

ENUMATH 2019

The European Conference on Numerical Mathematics and Advanced Applications (ENUMATH) conferences are a forum for discussion of basic aspects and new trends in numerical mathematics and challenging scientific and industrial applications on the highest level of international expertise. They started in Paris in 1995. Subsequent ENUMATH conferences were held at the universities of Heidelberg (1997), Jyvaskyla (1999), Ischia Porto (2001), Prague (2003), Santiago de Compostela (2005), Graz (2007), Uppsala (2009), Leicester (2011), Lausanne (2013),  Ankara (2015) and Bergen (2017).
The coming ENUMATH 2019 conference will be organised by the Delft University of Technology and the event will take in Egmond aan Zee from September 30 until October 4 in 2019. We will have eleven invited eminent speakers from various parts of the world. Around 400 participants from Europe and other parts of the world are to be expected. We expect to have contributions from the four Dutch universities of Technology. To this extent, we would like to ask you whether 4TU.AMI would be willing to sponsor our five days taking conference with 5000 euros.
