Shape the Future of 4TU.Resilience Engineering: Your Voice for 2026–2030
As 4TU Centre for Resilience Engineering, we are committed to making the complex social-technical-environmental systems in societies more resilient. We are a community of researchers, policymakers, and practitioners who collaboratively develop, apply, and disseminate knowledge, methods, and tools.
Draft Goals for the Upcoming Period
1. Support Societal Stakeholders
We aim to support stakeholders seeking to improve the resilience of complex systems, including urban, food, water, energy, transport and supply chain systems, by providing practical and strategic expertise.
2. Facilitate Scientific Progress and Societal Innovation
Through interaction and dialogue with societal stakeholders, we will facilitate scientific progress and societal innovation. We will develop methodological toolkits and knowledge to enhance resilience thinking in design and engineering. Our focus includes measuring resilience over time and space, as well as improving resilience coordination and governance.
3. Build and Strengthen Our Community
We will organise activities to grow our community in terms of size, connectedness, and influence. Our goal is to create opportunities for diverse individuals – including MSc students, EngD and PhD candidates, early-career and senior researchers, policymakers, and practitioners from various disciplines and geographical backgrounds – to connect, learn from one another, and find inspiration.
