Speed Talks on Resilience
It is with great enthusiasm that we invite you to the first session of our new online Resilience series, on Wednesday 20 November 2024 from 3pm – 4pm CET (UTC+01:00).
Focusing on the theme ‘Water, Urban Environment, Disasters and Multi-layer Resilience’, this session will offer a unique perspective on some of the most pressing challenges in our complex world.

Speakers
Max de Vries: Introducing the ‘Flood Resilient Landscapes’ methodology - an innovative, integrated approach to flood management and spatial planning, within the framework of ‘multi-layer safety’.
Mikhail Sirenko: Explaining lessons from disaster response to extreme weather events, such as heat waves and floods, and how these experiences can strengthen resilience approaches.
Supriya Krishnan: Insights into how disasters contribute to integrating climate goals into urban systems, with a focus on resilient cities during floods.
Joanne Vinke de Kruijf and Tina Comes will co-host this session.
