Project introduction and background information

The Technology Entrepreneurship master course (1ZM2O, 1MG2O, 1ZSO1, 1ZSO2) is one of the largest master courses of the Department of Industrial Engineering & Innovation Sciences, with 313 students in 2014-2015, from 6 different master programs TU/e wide.

Objective and expected outcomes

The course needed a redesign because of the redesign of the Industrial Engineering Master Innovation Management and TU/e wide changes in the master programs, and needed a content wise revision to better suit recent insight on entrepreneurship (following more an effectual way of thinking). With this project, this redesign was combined with introducing blended learning in the course. The complete redesign is realized and you can find the study guide as well as the results in the downloads.

Results and learnings

We see blended learning as a combination of classroom and online education, in which a student learns at least in part through delivery of content and instruction via digital and online media with some element of student control over time, place, or pace. By using a variety of online (weblectures, screencasting, mediacasting and quizzes) and inclass teaching strategies, we believe we can achieve the course goals and objectives more effectively and efficiently.

This course was completely redesigned, which gave the teachers the possibility to think about the course.

This course made use of the ideal combination of online and offline and different ways of working with and by the students.

Recommendations

When your want to redesign a course, it is good to contact the experts within your university. They have a lot of experience with the planning, have different formats and know what other teachers tried in the courses already. For more information or recommendations, please contact us!
