Challenge-based and interdisciplinary education

  • The Unspeakable Us Challenge-Based Education Game was piloted in interactive sessions, exploring skills and values in inter- and transdisciplinary education. December 2025

Teaching culture and professional development

  • New insights from the Teaching Culture Survey at WUR. May/June 2026
  • A report on emerging directions for universities highlights how institutions can respond to changing societal and educational needs. May/June 2026
  • The 2025 Teachers of the Year across the four 4TU universities share reflections on guiding students to navigate uncertainty and grow as independent thinkers. February 2026
  • Final reports from the longitudinal 2025 Teaching Culture Survey were and are being shared with the 4TU universities, offering concrete suggestions to strengthen positive teaching cultures. December 2025

Engineering education research and publications

  • Launch of the HEErI book series. 4TU.CEE and TU Delft OPEN have published the first volume in the new Higher Engineering Education Research and Innovation series, focusing on adaptive performance in engineering education. May/June  2026

Events and conferences

  • Next Horizons sets the agenda for 2027–2030. More than 100 educators and researchers gathered to shape the next phase of 4TU.CEE collaboration, with four new project themes receiving support from the 4TU Board. May/June 2026 
  • The programme for Next Horizons – Innovating Engineering Education is finalised, with cross-institutional sessions on themes ranging from digital literacy to responsible engineering. February 2026

  • Leadership transition at UT. Cindy Poortman handed over the CEE leadership at the University of Twente to Stefan Kooij, marking a new phase while maintaining continuity within the network. February 2026
