Registration joined conference 4TU.Ethics ESDiT open

Date/deadline: Monday, 1 July 2024

Registration is now open for the conference on Rethinking Ethics – Reimagining Technology, 2-4 October 2024, University of Twente, The Netherlands.

Early bird registration closes at 1 July. More information and the link to register can be found here.

With the theme of “Rethinking Ethics – Reimagining Technology”, this conference aims to address the question what philosophy and ethics of technology mean today. It accordingly seeks to bring together scholars working on philosophy and ethics of technology, whether this work concerns conceptual analysis, reflections on methods for studying and evaluating technology, case-studies in the ethics of (disruptive) technologies, sustainable technology, praxis-oriented approaches geared towards design and social implications, or topics related to these. There will be panels, roundtables, and paper presentations from a broad international community of scholars. Additionally, in collaboration with the ESDiT art-track and invited artists, several artworks and installations will be exhibited, studied, and discussed during the conference.

Keynote lectures will be delivered by Bernadette Bensaude-Vincent (Université Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne); Stephen M. Gardiner (University of Washington); and Emma Ruttkamp-Bloem (University of Pretoria).

This conference is jointly organized by the 4TU.Center for Ethics and Technology and the ESDiT research program.
