In January, the 3TU.Federation submitted its Final Report on the Technology Sector Plan to the Ministry of Education, Cultural Affairs and Science (OCW). Over the past five years, many issues have been addressed, and above all there has been significant improvement. The Bachelorās intake has grown by more than 30% and all three technical universities have made major reforms to their Bachelorās programmes. Students are earning more credits each year, the drop-out rate has been brought back to an acceptable level and our degree programmes are extremely popular internationally.
The previously established Centres of Excellence and Centres of Competence have developed into the nine 3TU.Research Centres. These centres build links between the research groups and develop new joint research programmes. It is often difficult to find external funding in these new areas without combining our forces. These research centres also create a common line of access to researchers for top sectors and individual companies.
The final reportĀ (only available in Dutch) examines the results of the section of the Technology Sector Plan dealing with education in detail, and it describes the activities of the 3TU.Federationās various teaching and research centres over the period between 2014 and 2015. From 2016, the 4TU.Federation will publish an annual report on the combined activities on its website.
