The 4TU.Federation foundation consists of various bodies. Below is a description of the most important parts of the 4TU.Federation.

General
The Executive Committee has operational responsibility for running the 4TU.Federation. It receives advice from teaching, research, and valorisation management committees. 4TU policy is translated into the Technology Sector Plan, the 4TU.Research Centres and the 4TU.Centre for Research Data. The chairman represents the Executive Committee. The first 4TU point of contact is the secretary.

The General Management Board is made up of every member of the Executive Boards of the universities of technology. Based on proposals by the Executive Committee, the General Management Board sets down the foundation’s long-term plan, annual plan, and annual report.

Executive Committee 

The Executive Committee is made up of the four presidents of the Executive Boards of the universities of technology, mr. V. van der Chijs (UT, chairman) , prof.dr.ir. T.H.J.J. van der Hagen (TU Delft), ir. J.H.J. Mengelers (TU/e) en prof.dr.ir. Louise O. Fresco (WUR). The Executive Committee has the duty of managing the foundation. It takes decisions on proposals and recommendations from the research, education, and valorisation management committees. On the advice of the management committees, it approves plans, budgets, and the accountability of the management of the operational sections of the 4TU.Federation.
The 4TU.Federation is represented by the Executive Committee.

Research Management Committee 

The Research Management Committee consists of the research portfolio holders of the Executive Boards of the universities of technology, professor dr. T.T.M. Palstra (UT), professor K.C.A.M. Luyben (TU Delft) professor F.P.T. Baaijens (TU/e) and prof.dr.ir. A.P.J. Mol (WUR, Chairman). The committee has the task of shaping and supervising cooperation and planning of the universities in the field of research, under the banner of ‘4TU.Research’, a process in which the 4TU.Research Centres are also involved. The Research Management Committee also has the specific task of supervising the operations of the jointly run (by the universities of technology) 4TU.Research Centres and their management.
