4TU Impact Final on 7 November 2019 in The Hague

Students and graduates of the 4TU universities in Delft, Twente, Eindhoven and Wageningen are essential players in society. They are without doubt going to have an impact on it. Our students are the architects and creators of new technology that will change the world: in the care sector, in the way we feed the world's population, in the energy transition, in digitalisation which is set to advance in ways we cannot imagine.

Young talent has fresh and brilliant ideas. The 4TU Impact Final is when we challenge our students to translate these ideas into actual practical applications and innovations. It is a prestigious contest for the most creative and enterprising students from the Dutch universities of technology.

During the 4TU Impact Final, students from the four universities of technology will compete with each other to decide who will join a trade mission to Dubai as an innovative start-up. The final will take place on Thursday 7 November in The Hague. The winner will be able to join the Dutch delegation on its trade mission to the World Expo in Dubai.

Four local contests will run up to the 4TU Impact Final: the TU/e Contest; the TU Delft Ideation Contest; the UT Challenge; and the WUR Challenge ReThink Protein. All those taking part will receive the support they deserve to help them turn their ideas into start-ups. The four universities have a wide-ranging ecosystem to provide support in areas ranging from entrepreneurial education and IP to start-up programmes and investment funding.

During the preliminary rounds at the four universities, the students will be coached by experts from the business world. This will enable them to make major strides in getting their ideas market-fit in the shortest time.

Winners of the 4TU Wildcards are:

Eindhoven: Pressure Sensitive Keybords, Team Red, SpaceSea, Team CORE

Delft:  Quantum Energy, Glimp, Reefy, Rock-n-Roo

Twente: Online Eye Measurement, ECsensAccellent Resonant Accelerometers, Oswald labs

Wageningen: InsectImpact (Insect Brownie Baking Kit), ALFI, INKA SPREAD, Morama: a lost crop from Africa
