Recently two of our dedicated 4TU.CEE staff have left our institute to pursue new challenges. We would like to thank Perry den Brok, projectleader at TU/e and Lisa Gommer, project coordinator at University of Twente, for their hard work. Chris Rouwenhorst is the successor of Lisa and Birgit Pepin will replace Perry. Hereunder they introduce themselves. We warmly welcome them to our team!
Birgit Pepin
Being born and having studied physics, mathematics and meteorology in Germany (Kiel University), Birgit Pepin has worked as researcher, teacher and teacher educator in several European countries, amongst them the UK and Norway, before taking up a professorship in Mathematics/STEM Education at Eindhoven University of Technology (TU/e) in 2015. Her research has included “transition” studies (from school to university), international comparative studies, and the investigation of digital curriculum materials and their use by teachers/students in different contexts. She has supervised numerous PhD students, has published widely and serves on international advisory boards. As of 1st September 2017 Birgit is the 4TU.CEE leader/coordinator for TU/e and she looks forward to a fruitful collaboration and work with the four TU's. Contact: 040 247 7301 or b.e.u.pepin@tue.nl
Chris Rouwenhorst
Chris Rouwenhorst studied Educational Science and Technology at the University of Twente. He works as an educational consultant within the Centre of Expertise in Learning and Teaching (CELT) at the University of Twente. Most of the time he works on innovations with ICT in education. His current interest goes to topics/projects on blended learning, digital (formative) assessment, curriculum redesign and innovative learning spaces. As of 1 July 2017 Chris is the 4TU.CEE coordinator for the University of Twente. Chris is looking forward to coordinate the implementation of improvements in education and analyse its effectiveness.
