WORKSHOPS INTERCULTURAL GROUP DYNAMICS IN MULTIDISCIPLINARY CONTEXTS

Enhance your skills in managing intercultural interdisciplinary group dynamics. 4TU lecturers, educational developers and staff responsible for quality assurance or internationalisation are welcome to join the workshop at UT on 15 May or at TUD on 5 June.

 

 

 

 

INSPIRING 4TU.CEE LEARNING SPACES TOUR @ UT

On the 4th of February the University of Twente was visited by 35 participants of the learning spaces tour. It turned out to be an inspiring day in which they visited the Design Lab and the Technical Medical Center. They learned about the role of UT learning spaces and how these spaces can contribute to and influence group learning and the development of new skills. Read more…

 

 

 

 

EXPERIENCES WITH TU DELFT JOINT INTERDISCIPLINARY PROJECT

The JiP education programme at TU Delft consists of working on a design case provided and coached by a company. This academic year it has run very successfully for a second time with 50 students from 8 different faculties. ARTICLE: COURSE REDESIGNING IN EUROPEAN JOURNAL OF ENGINEERING EDUCATION

Gunter Bombaerts and Andreas Spahn of TU/e recently published an article in the European Journal of Engineering Education. The article describes the use of basic needs and motivation with self-determination theory to redesign a course. The research was sponsored by 4TU.CEE. Read the article here.

 

 

 

 

NEW ARTICLE PUBLISHED: COACHING IN DESIGN-BASED LEARNING

Several (former) employees of TU/e have published an article in the International Journal of Technology and Design. It addresses the question of what good coaching in Design Based Learning entails. They draw from their experiences with various innovation projects funded by 4TU.CEE. The article presents a theoretical coaching model and practical propositions. Read it here…

 

 

 

 

BOUNDARY CROSSING AS MODUS OPERANDI AT WAGENINGEN UNIVERSITY

In the Comenius Leadership Fellow, WUR is contributing to students Boundary Crossing competence development and further improves and implements boundary crossing experiences. One of the main findings of the first year of the project was that there is no one-sized-fits-all recommendation for the various programmes involved. Read more…

 

 

 

ENGINEERING EDUCATION AND TECHNOLOGICAL DEVELOPMENT IN SOUTH KOREA

A group of 15 honours programme students from TU Delft visited South Korea in the summer of 2019. The goal of this study trip was: to learn to what extent innovation is integrated into education and how it is used to improve it; what major technological developments are embraced by Korean companies, and how the engineering culture in South Korea differs from the engineering culture in the Netherlands. TU/E INSPIRATIONAL WORKSHOP ON INNOVATION FUND PROJECTS

To inspire TU/e teachers for the next call of innovation fund projects, 4TU.CEE at TU/e organised a workshop. KEYNOTES FOR THE SEFI2020 ENGINEERING EDUCATION CONFERENCE

From 21-24 September, 4TU.CEE and Saxion are organising the SEFI annual conference at the UT. Three of the keynotes are now known. Greet Langie (KU Leuven) will present engineering roles that can help students prepare for future professional careers. Gerard van der Steenhoven (KNMI, UT) will address weather and climate developments and what’s on the agenda of engineers in that respect. Ruth Graham (UK) will introduce next steps for universities that decide to balance research and teaching career opportunities. Further details of the programme will be revealed in the coming months. Both full conference and day-tickets will be available.
