The successful Tour de Mazur that took place in November last year tasted like more. On March 31st, a follow-up workshop was organised at the University of Twente. Approximately 25 lecturers attended the workshop organised by CEE and CELT. They were inspired in November and are now involved in implementing new ideas related to “Mazur” themes: Team Based Learning, Active learning with peers, Student engagement, Assessment for learning. Lecturers already related to one of these themes shared their experiences. Marjolein Dohmen talked about implementing Team Based Learning into a Civil Engineering Master Course. Remko Wiegerink shared experiences on working with Perusall in an Electrical Engineering bachelor module.
Participants were divided in subgroups in which ideas for innovating educational practice were discussed. Halfway through, Eric Mazur joined the workshop by means of a Skype session and answered questions from workshop participants as on how to improve their own course.
Many participants were especially interested in Team Based Learning and had a lively discussion about possibilities for using this method in different types of courses. A separate activity (workshop or seminar) will be organised on this theme.
