Webinar: Using eXtended Reality (XR) for education

Monday 13 April 2026 / 09.30 - 10.30
Speaker: Ossokina, Ioulia TU/e

How can XR make urban planning and real estate education more realistic, participatory, and engaging? In this webinar, TU/e researcher Ioulia Ossokina shares results from the Urban Behaviour eXtended Reality (UBeX) lab.

UBeX is a pilot lab developed within the Department of the Built Environment at TU/e, supported by the Boost Innovation Fund. The lab uses XR to simulate how people behave in cities, and the results are used in education and research to improve participatory urban planning and design.

Over three years, UBeX has been integrated into four courses and a graduation project within the Urban Systems & Real Estate unit of the Department of Built Environment. Students work with reusable XR environments and challenge-based assignments that mirror real urban planning problems.

This webinar is open to all and especially interesting for lecturers and programme coordinators exploring XR or experiential learning.
