^{The teams for the 4TU Impact Challenge are selected through preliminary rounds held at each of the four leading Dutch technical universities: TU Delft, TU Eindhoven, University of Twente, and Wageningen University & Research. Ambitious student teams pitch their ideas and innovations to a panel of expert judges. Selection is based on key criteria such as originality, technical feasibility, market potential and societal impact. Only the most promising and visionary concepts move on to the national final.}

There are two awards to win at the 2026 4TU Impact Challenge: the Startup Award and the Spin-off Award. Both winning teams will earn a place on one of the 4TU Federation’s international startup missions, such as a high-profile conference or trade mission. This opportunity not only offers global exposure, but also connects winners with investors, partners, and valuable networks. Additionally, they’ll earn the title of ‘Best Startup/Spin-off Team of the 4TU.’ for the year - celebrating their innovation and social impact. Together, these rewards provide both recognition and a springboard to accelerate their positive change.}

RECAP: Vindi Biosystems and SimplyPill won the 7th edition of the 4TU Impact Challenge.

The seventh edition of the 4TU Impact Challenge took place in August 2025 at University of Twente, where start-ups from the four technical universities competed for the Jury and Audience Awards. Vindi Biosystems from Delft won the Jury Award with their wearable device for real-time monitoring of up to 24 biomarkers, enabling early detection and continuous insight into diseases such as heart failure. The Audience Award went to SimplyPill from Twente, an innovative smart pill dispenser connected to an app that improves medication adherence and provides real-time insight into medication use for patients and healthcare providers.
