The University of Twente's TechMed Centre has joined Nordic Proof as an Affiliate Partner, strengthening connections between the MedTech Twente ecosystem and leading healthcare and testing environments across the Nordic countries. Bent-Håkon Lauritzen, Coordinator of Nordic Proof, and Remke Burie, Managing Director of the TechMed Centre at the University of Twente, signed the agreement at the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in Stockholm on 10 September.
The partnership creates new opportunities for health technology companies to access expertise, testing facilities and clinical environments in both the Netherlands and the Nordic region. By joining Nordic Proof, TechMed Centre further expands its international network and contributes to accelerating the development, validation and implementation of innovative healthcare technologies.
Connecting MedTech Twente with the Nordic region
The Twente region is home to a strong and closely connected medtech ecosystem, where companies, healthcare providers, researchers, educational institutions and public organisations work together to develop and implement healthcare innovations. At the heart of this ecosystem is the University of Twente's internationally recognised TechMed Centre, which provides state-of-the-art facilities for research, innovation, simulation, training and validation of medical technology.
The close collaboration between researchers, entrepreneurs and healthcare professionals helps accelerate the journey from concept and prototype to clinical practice. The ecosystem offers expertise in fields such as medical devices, robotics, diagnostics, sensor technologies and data-driven healthcare, supporting companies throughout the innovation process.
By joining Nordic Proof, TechMed Centre strengthens its international network and creates new opportunities for collaboration between Dutch and Nordic healthcare innovators, researchers and companies.
"Joining Nordic Proof creates a direct connection between the MedTech Twente ecosystem and leading healthcare and testing environments across the Nordic countries. Together, we can give companies access to complementary expertise and support the development of technologies that make a meaningful difference for patients and healthcare professionals," says Remke Burie of the University of Twente's TechMed Centre.
