4TU.Health Event
On 28 May 2026, the 4TU.Health Centre brought together over 150 researchers, clinicians, entrepreneurs and policymakers at the Omnia Conference Centre in Wageningen for its inaugural event. United around one shared goal, accelerating the responsible translation of technological innovation into everyday care, participants from across institutions, disciplines and sectors engaged in sessions, discussions and corridor conversations that surfaced a striking degree of shared urgency.
Several insights emerged with consistency throughout the day. Pushback from healthcare professionals on innovation rarely signals resistance to change, but rather a legitimate need for a better fit with existing realities. Cross-boundary collaboration is essential, not optional. Piecemeal solutions, however technically sophisticated, are unlikely to drive lasting change; healthcare demands integral answers to integral problems. And development must start on the shop floor: walking clinical departments, asking questions, and ensuring that data reflects everyday reality rather than idealised models.
