Aim of the course
To introduce PhD candidates to main concepts, issues, theories, methods and applications pertaining to the ethics of socially of disruptive technologies, as covered in the ESDiT program.

Credits
Max. 5 EC. The course ends with a day of student presentations, and these presentations will form the basis for assessments (with particular conditions for assessment on the particular requirements of the student's university).
Requirement for ESDiT PhDs
For PhD candidates in ESDiT who started after July 2024, this is a required course. 4TU.Ethics agreed that because of this additional requirement, the course Philosophies of Technology will not be a requirement for these PhD candidates. However, this course is still strongly recommended. For PhD candidates in ESDiT who started after January 2023 but before August 2024, this course is strongly recommended.
