Project introduction and background information

Project Introduction

The Bridging Mathematics Course is an online educational initiative designed to address gaps in high school math knowledge and ensure students are well-prepared for university-level mathematics. As students transition from high school to higher education, they often encounter challenges due to varying levels of mathematical understanding. This course aims to provide a structured and supportive environment for students to solidify their math skills, enhancing their readiness for university coursework.

Background Information

Mathematics forms a critical foundation for many academic disciplines and professional fields. However, students entering university often have disparate levels of math proficiency due to differences in high school curricula and individual learning experiences. This disparity can impact their performance and confidence in university courses that rely heavily on mathematical concepts.

To address this issue, the Bridging Mathematics Course offers a comprehensive online platform tailored to bridge these knowledge gaps. Utilizing learning analytics, the course provides personalized feedback to students, identifying specific areas where they need improvement. Concurrently, teachers receive aggregated feedback on overall class performance, enabling them to tailor their instructional approaches.

By focusing on both individual and group performance, the course ensures that students start their university journey with a strong mathematical foundation, ultimately contributing to their academic success and confidence.
