TU/e Innovation Day - Virtual and Remote Labs in Education
4TU.CEE welcomes all TU/e and 4TU employees engaged in teaching and learning at the TU/e Innovation day 2018. This day is organised yearly to inspire teachers to innovate their education. This year the possibilities of remote and virtual labs in education will be explored.
Keynote
Our keynote Tim van der Grinten will speak about virtual and mixed reality. These technologies have been around for quite some time now. While they are already widely used in research, education, visualisation, and simulation projects we are only starting to see it's potential. In his talk Tim will connect the core values of this medium with the application possibilities of the future. He speaks from his own design experience as VR-experience designer and enthusiasm for the development of technology in a broad spectrum.
Tim van der Grinten is Co-founder of Enversed Group & VR designer at Enversed Studios. He has always been interested in gaming-technology, and the way it enables us to experience, learn and explore. During his career as an architect, he developed skills in architectural visualisation. With the rise of virtual reality, he was one of the early adopters of this medium in his field of work. The ongoing growth of virtual reality projects led to the formation of Enversed.
About Enversed
Enversed merged the passion, ambitions and energy of 6 entrepreneurs of different design fields into one goal: Creating the next step in virtual reality experiences. This led to the creation of the first and biggest virtual reality experience center of Europe. Since the opening in October 2016, Enversed has built an actual visitable and scalable business concept. Next to the growing entertainment division, Enversed studios created virtual reality experiences, from games to high-end virtual reality training, simulation and architectural visualisation.
