Workpackage 4 went to Malaga

Agnes A.M. Berendsen and Rebecca Schipper, travelled to Malaga to visit the 23rd European Congress on Obesity (ECO). The four days of the conference were tightly packed with many interesting sessions, so quite some planning and coordinating was required to make sure that all relevant session could be attended by at least one of us.

Though the topics of the sessions were diverse, there was one clear overarching message: to optimally support patients receiving treatment for obesity there is still much work to be done.

- What could be considered an adequate protein intake for this population?

- Which parameters should be monitored beyond BMI and weight to identify patients who require additional support?

With are our work within 4TU RECENTRE Research Program we hope to contribute to answering these types of questions.

Next to attending the many interesting sessions and enjoying the weather at the Costa del Sol, we also presented two posters about our work within the RECENTRE program.

Agnes presented the design of the MONUCO cohort study.

Rebecca shared the results of her scoping review on the representation of different populations in consumer wearable measurement validation studies and the implications of these results for research with consumer wearables in people with obesity.
