In the workshop, Γzge Εahin gave a talk on copula-based risk modeling for clinical data. She explained how discretizing a covariate, a common practice in clinical settings, changes the conditional distribution and quantiles of bivariate copulas. She then demonstrated how vine copula-based classifiers enhance clinical risk modeling in colorectal-surgery cohort.
Meanwhile, Victor Ryan presented his project on copula-based framework on distribution shift. This approach generalizes the existing categorizations of distribution shifts by capturing how full joint distributions evolve.
