As a follow-up to our โEmbodied Exploration of Adaptive Lifestyle Interventionsโ workshop at the 4TU RECENTRE Research Program consortium, Ana Coiciu is excited to share the results of the workshop:
- Tension between structure and freedom: While some participants wanted routine and reminders, others resisted feeling controlled or tracked and emphasized a healthy balance.
- Monitoring as a facilitator vs burden: Participants noted that without meaningful feedback, monitoring can feel intrusive or demotivating.
- Visual and sensory elements matter: From sleep, graphics, to feeling the sun, visual, tangible, and sensory cues supported engagement and reflection.
One key insight? Digital tools only become truly empowering when they align with how an individual feels in the moment, in the rhythms, ups and downs of daily life.
These insights are helping shape how we approach the development of adaptive digital interventions that are truly responsive, not just to behaviors, but to people.
Thank you again to Laura Winkens and Elise Micic Micic for your collaboration, and to the consortium who brought their contribution to the process and inspiration for our next workshop study!ย ย ย
