Location: Van der Valk Hotel, Utrecht
Date: 11-12 April 2023
ForĀ decades, the Netherlands Mathematical Congress (NMC) has been the main congress of the Koninklijk Wiskundig Genootschap (KWG, Royal Dutch Mathematical Society). Since 2018, NMC is organised by KWG in cooperation with Platform Mathematics Netherlands (PWN) and the Netherlands Organisation for Scientific Research (NWO).
NMC aims at all mathematicians, from pure to applied, and from junior to senior (from PhD student to chief technology officer, from high-school teacher to full professor). It is a once-in-a-year event to learn about other areas in mathematics, potentially leading to new ideas for your own research, or to new collaborations. NMC offers a much wider view of mathematics than normally encountered at conferences.
This year's NMC takes place on 11 and 12 AprilĀ in Utrecht: see the call for participation below.
4TU.AMI session during NMC
Just like in previous years, one of the parallel sessions during this year's Netherlands Mathematical Congress (NMC) will be devoted to 4TU.AMI. This session takes place on 12 April between 11:15 and 12:45. Five speakers -one from each of the four technical universities and one external speaker- will present some state-of-the-art health-related mathematics:
- Luc Florack (TU Eindhoven)
A Geometric Framework for the Human Structural Connectome - Martin van Gijzen (TU Delft)
Imaging algorithms for low-field MRI - George van Voorn (Wageningen University & Research)
Health economic mathematical models and their validation - Richard Boucherie (University of Twente)
Dynamic assignment of capacity and fair balancing of COVID-19 patients over hospitals - Sjaak van der Pouw (MedTech at Work B.V. & Van Vliet Diagnostics)
Can mathematics help to improve quality and lower the cost of healthcare?
More information about this 4TU.AMI session, including abstracts of the four talks, can be found here.Ā
We refer to the NMC 2023 website for theĀ full 2-day programme and registration.Ā
We hope to see you in Utrecht on 11 and 12 April!
