On 14-15 September 2017, the Human Computation Community in the Netherlands (HComp-NL), supported by 4TU-NIRICT,  is organising a series of events at the Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam, in conjunction with the inaugural lecture of Prof. Dr. Lora Aroyo entitled "Data Science with Humans in the Loop”. HComp-NL Symposium Part I: Tutorial session in the field of Human Computation
This session is supported by SIKS Graduate School, and is specifically aimed at PhD students and postdocs and will provide practical experiences on how various forms of crowdsourcing, nichesourcing, human computation and citizen science can help gather, harness and capture human knowledge at scale and thus ultimately improve machine-based systems.

3rd Cyber Security Workshop in the Netherlands

The annual Cyber Security Workshop in the Netherlands (supported by 4TU.NIRICT, dcypher and NWO) aims to contribute to a stronger and more connected cyber security research community in the Netherlands. Seize this excellent opportunity to share ideas, experiences, and information, within the diverse topics of cyber security. Both researchers and practitioners working within the field of cyber security are cordially invited to join. Participation is free of charge.

We are delighted to have Dr. Luca Allodi giving a keynote speech: ‘Tales from the Russian Underground: Infection Technologies and Economics’.

As in the previous year, the program committee is soliciting abstracts describing work on cyber security. All PhD and MSc students are encouraged to submit a one-page abstract in pdf-format, including names of the authors, affiliations and e-mail addresses.
