Interview Cynthia Liem, Chair ICTng (4TU.NIRICT)
To gain an impression of what ICT academics consider important in their careers and open up the debate about this, ICTng (4TU.NIRICT) has developed a questionnaire that has been sent out to all universities.
The 4TU.Federation interviewed Cynthia Liem (TU Delft) about the questionnaire and other topics that are relevant for the future of ICT.
4TU.NIRICT Online Community Day, November 5, 2020
Given current COVID-19 concerns, the decision has been made to not have this Community Day taking place as a physical meeting. Instead, we will host a shorter online meeting during the same afternoon (November 5 from 13.30-15.30 h), which still will be focused on highlighting preliminary outcomes of the survey on Perceptions of Academic Leadership among the Dutch academic ICT community, and allowing for some interaction among colleagues and across institutes in breakout sessions.

Survey about Perceptions of Academic Leadership
On behalf of the ICT Next Generation (ICTng) network, the Netherlands Institute for Research on ICT (NIRICT), and the ICT Research Platform Nederland (IPN), we would like to invite our fellow Netherlands-based academic ICT staff colleagues to take part in a survey about perceptions of academic leadership.

In initial discussions we had on this theme, we noticed that academic leadership and professional ambitions, expectations and appreciation may be perceived differently by different academic ‘generations’. Our impression is that many of us have strong opinions about these topics, which however are not voiced sufficiently and openly within direct managerial reporting lines.

This survey allows for you to anonymously share your thoughts, while at the same time, it will allow for us to assess whether some sounds that are currently believed to be specific to individual cases actually are collectively felt.

You can access the survey at https://tudelft.fra1.qualtrics.com/jfe/form/SV_b1QDrLNylHWMvPv.

We will discuss the preliminary outcomes of this survey during an online meeting on November 5 13:30-15:30 hrs.

You also are warmly invited to join this meeting, for which you can register at: https://forms.gle/ZkovXrokUcUPRKr56
