On Thursday, April 24th, 2024, the 3rd 4TU/14UAS Research Day on Digitalization of the Built Environment takes place in Delft and is hosted jointly by InHolland University of Applied Sciences (InHolland), The Hague University of Applied Sciences (THUAS), and Delft University of Technology (TU Delft).Â

Visit of Tom Veldkamp to 4TU.Built Environment
Rector Tom Veldkamp (UT) of 4TU.Research (4TU.Onderzoek) brought a visit to scientific director Max Hendriks and coordinator Maaike Riemersma of 4TU.Built Environment at June 22, 2023. He was accompanied by Marjolein Dohmen-Janssen (secretary 4TU.Federation), Saskia Nienhuis (UT and 4TU.Federation) and Birgit van Driel (TUD). Presentations were given to introduce the domain acceleration teams (DAT's) Digitalization and Circularity & Sustainability by respectively Giorgio Agugiaro (TUD) and Torsten Schröder (TU/e) and Daan Schraven (TUD). After a lively discussion and a tour to the Stevin II laboratory, the visit was concluded by meaninful advice on further development of 4TU.Built Environment.

On Monday, March 27th, 2023, the 2nd 4TU/14UAS Research Day on Digitalization of the Built Environment takes place on the TU Eindhoven campus. The paper submission and registration system for this event is open and can be found here.Â

#hackMYCITY
Five students from the University of Twente and five students from Eindhoven University of Technology achieved outstanding results at the digital twin hackathon in Johannesburg last month. The students of the Dutch universities created digital twins to tackle challenges related to waste management, road asset management, walking safety, and circularity of building materials and bring the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd price back home. The jury was impressed by the innovative solutions of the students and envisions the potential for future development of the results.
