13:30-14:00: Keynote Four challenges to increase Internet resilience and security

Abstract: In this talk, I will discuss four challenges to further increase the resilience and security of the Internet, such as extending it with a resilience and security measurement plane and new Internet security concepts. Addressing these challenges is important because the requirements that shaped the original design of the Internet back in the 1970s and 1980s have evolved, for instance in terms of the type of threats it needs to be able to withstand. I will begin with an outline of how the Internet works, followed by a short overview of its history. Next, I’ll present the four challenges with a few illustrative examples. I hope to finish with a round of audience feedback and discussion.
