Meis Suker has moved in varied capacities within the creative industry for over 10 years. During her time as an Industrial Design student at TU/e she developed her design practice in an experimental manner in which radical altruism and immaterial value were pivotal axes, operating alongside a strong personal penchant for novelty, niches and interdisciplinary knowledge exchange. The main focus of her work is in the social domain, and in actively stimulating positive forces to build upon each other's strengths.

Break Out Sessions

Break out rooms for each of the five themes

13:15-13:30 Theme
Get to know each other by discussing the theme.
How would you position yourself and what are topics or issues that matter to you?
How would your research create societal impact within the theme?

13:30-14:00 Debate
Brainstorm about possible events or workshops in the afternoon.
What can be done in an afternoon that is interesting for you and your fellow design researchers?
What can be done in an afternoon that is interesting for societal partners within your theme?

14:00-14:30 Projects
Define the kinds of projects that would fit the theme.
How would you describe your type of projects that would fit? What should it include?

14:30-15:00 Network
Map out the research and societal networks and identify interesting speakers.
Who are the people in design research working on this theme nationally and internationally?

15:00-15:30 Exhibit
Discuss how to communicate to the general public via DDW themes.
How to make complex concepts digestible?
