The 4TU.Built Environment Center is a collaboration between the five building departments of the four Dutch universities of technology (Delft, Eindhoven, Twente and Wageningen) and one of the 4TU.Centers within the 4TU.Federatie. We combine our expertise and capacities in order to make an impact in societal challenges. This is done via a network of organizations in close cooperation with innovative companies from the building sector.

Through it’s research and collaborations, 4TU.Built Environment impacts the societal challenges and transitions in the Built Environment. 4TU.Built Environment collaborates intensively with several innovative partners and frontrunning companies in the innovation ecosystem.
Domain Acceleration Teams
Research is designed to be across universities within our Domain Acceleration Teams (DAT's) on the following subjects:
- Circularity and Sustainability
- Climate Adaptation and Mitigation
- Digitalization
- Energy Transition
- Health in the Built Environment
- Infrastructure
The DAT's work closely together with several stakeholders in the Dutch, European and International ecosystems.
Organization
The governance consists of a Management Team with ambassadors from the building departments. This team is governed by a Scientific Director and a Coordinator.
The deans of the departments facilitate the strategic implementation of the goals and the vision of the 4TU.Built Environment Center. They can be contacted via the coordinator.
Discipline Council
The Discipline Council Built Environment - Discipline Raad Ontwerp van de Gebouwde Omgeving (OGO) - is formed by the 4TU.Management Team and University of Groningen (RUG).
