Proof to Practice: a day of mathematics education research in calculus and linear algebra
Location: UPark Hotel, University of Twente campus
Date: November 11, 2025
Goal
FERMAT, the UT mathematics education research group, and the 4TU.AMI 'Mathematics Education Research Project' SRI invite you to attend a symposium on the teaching and learning of linear algebra and calculus. This symposium aims to support a network of excellence in mathematics education research and to 'close the gap' between published educational scholarship and university educational practice.
Scholars from Dutch and international institutions will present recent educational scholarship on calculus (single and multivariable) and linear algebra. As well as presenting the work of their own research groups, there will also be synopses of the global state of play in the mathematics education literature on these topics.
The symposium is expected to be of interest to the mathematics education research community in and nearby the Netherlands as well as to teachers of calculus and linear algebra who are interested in such scholarship yet are not educational researchers themselves.
