DDW 2025 call for participation

Design United at the Dutch Design Week 2025

4TU.Design United will exhibit the latest design research conducted at the four Universities of Technology in the Netherlands during the Dutch Design Week this October! Do you have innovative work to share, mind-changing ideas to spread, prototypes to show, or interesting approaches to discuss? Consider participating and submit your work!

Submission deadline: June 13th 2025 | Anywhere on Earth

DDW Mission days

This year, we are connecting again with the Dutch Design Week mission days:

Less Hope, More Action!

In these missions, we advocate not to be paralyzed in the face of ecological crises, threats to democracy, and political unrest. Instead, we aim to act with a sense of optimism—one that, as Dutch writer Tommy Wieringa suggests, doesn't have to rely on hope. That's why the theme of this year’s Design United editions at DDW is: “Less Hope, More Action!”

For whom?

The call is open for everyone at the four Universities of Technology (4TU):

  • Delft University of Technology (TUD)
  • Eindhoven University of Technology (TU/e)
  • University of Twente (UT)
  • Wageningen University & Research (WUR)

Please check out our previous editions to get inspired!

We are looking for projects that:

  • Address topics that fit one or more of the DDW mission day topics
  • Illustrate Design Research in (one or more of) its many forms
  • Shows the design-related aspects of the research in visually appealing formats
  • Is appropriate for, and can be understood by, a general audience

Can be showcased at DU.Exhibit and/or stimulates debate as part of our DU.Dialogue sessions.

What we offer is:

  • Professional video documentation of your work
  • Included as a project-article in our eMagazine
  • Good exposure throughout the Dutch Design Week
  • Tickets for DDW and travel expenses (within reason)

Super cool Design United sweaters!
