The 4TU.Built Environment Domain Acceleration Team (DAT) Energy Transition (ET) invites researchers from all 4TU+ institutions to join a one-day meetup at Eindhoven University of Technology. The event aims to exchange insights, align research directions, and explore how academic innovation can accelerate the Dutch energy transition.
The energy transition process is centered around innovation. However, it is sometimes hard to efficiently integrate groundbreaking innovations in the cautious building sector. To actively approach this challenge, the 4TU DAT ET comes together with researchers from various energy transition research departments. Together, the research departments will discuss key topics including: 1) digitalization of the built environment to accelerate sustainable renovation and energy efficiency; 2), regional challenges and opportunities in implementing energy transition strategies and technologies, and 3) future research directions for a resilient, inclusive and climate-neutral built environment.
By continuing the dialogue, the 4TU DAT ET strengthens collaboration across disciplines and institutions in the built environment. The outcomes of the meetup will help refine shared research lines and contribute to a collective long-term vision for the built environment’s role in the energy transition. This event builds on the strong foundation of collaboration within 4TU+, fostering meaningful academic connections and supporting the societal mission towards a sustainable energy future.
The DAT Energy Transition Tour is a collaborative initiative aimed at strengthening the community and fostering ecosystem development across the four Dutch Technical Universities. The tour began in Spring at the Green Village on the TU Delft campus, serving as a vibrant launchpad for dialogue and innovation. This visit to TU/e marks the second stop in the tour, continuing the momentum of connecting researchers, students, and stakeholders around energy transition challenges. In the coming year, the tour will continue with visits to Wageningen University and the University of Twente. Through these campus engagements, DAT Energy Transition seeks to catalyze interdisciplinary collaboration and accelerate progress in the energy transition.
