4TU.Built Environment and Cirkelstad come together for a two-day conference!
On 20 and 21 October, Cirkelstad and the four technical universities of the Netherlands (4TU) will come together at ISVW in Leusden for a two-day conference dedicated to making circular futures in the built environment tangible.
Too often, the conversation around circularity gets stuck on barriers and challenges, while we spend too little time imagining how promising and attractive a circular future can be. With this conference, we aim to move beyond the question of “why it is difficult” and instead focus on the opportunities that lie ahead.
Together with Cirkelstad members and 4TU researchers, we will envision positive futures for a circular built environment, drawing among others on scenarios developed by the Netherlands Environmental Assessment Agency. To these scenarios we then link concrete innovation challenges: What needs to be researched, tested, and developed collaboratively in order to realise such futures?
In this way, the conference builds a strong foundation for meaningful connections between academic research and practical implementation, and for long-term cooperation between 4TU and Cirkelstad in driving the circular transition forward.
