4TU.Redesign members Donika Xhani and Renata Guizzardi, have published a new paper titled “Ontology for Personalized Recipe Recommendations Supporting Sustainability, Personal Preferences, and Health Restrictions” in the proceedings of the International Conference on Conceptual Modeling (ER 2025).
In this work, the authors introduce SustainHealthyFood, an ontology designed to support personalized food recommendations that are healthy, sustainable, and aligned with individual dietary preferences and restrictions. The ontology integrates four key conceptual domains — nutrition, health, sustainability, and explainable recommendations — and enables reasoning over food choices through formalized knowledge structures.
Last week, Donika presented this work at the ER 2025 conference in Poitiers, France, where she discussed its implications for ontology-driven recommendation systems and conceptual modeling.
