Qin Yang (2012 alumnus)

Tender/Project Engineer at BAM International, a part of the Royal BAM Group

This Master’s covers many different areas and focuses on the management side of construction, approaching problems in the construction industry from a management perspective. During my Bachelor’s studies, I took a wide range of courses but never really focused on a specific topic. This Master’s has enabled me to study the construction management aspect in greater depth and to focus on the soft side of construction.

If you agree that many of today’s problems in the construction industry can be addressed by better planning and better management, I think the Construction Management and Engineering programme at the University Twente would be a good choice. The university has a close tie with industries and lecturers and professors are always willing to assist and facilitate you, whatever field you want to specialize in.
What I liked the most during the MSc program was the comprehensive coverage of the various aspects related with Construction/Project Management.

A wonderful experience!

I did my BSc Construction Management and Engineering at the Shenzhen University in China. Studying in the Netherlands is a wonderful experience. It has benefitted me in many different ways. Academically, teaching in the Netherlands is very interactive and students are encouraged to communicate directly with their professors. I’ve also had the chance to meet a lot of other international students whose diverse backgrounds have enriched my own experiences. Last but not least, we have a beautiful campus, complete with forests and farms, something most universities in the Netherlands don’t have. It’s also pleasant to live on campus because of the various student activities organized by ESN and student clubs. The quiet environment makes it a nice place to study and there are plenty of study facilities that everyone can make use of. In general, I’d say it’s a campus with something for everyone.
