In April, the four technical universities jointly launched 4TU.Schools: a platform aimed at bridging the gap between secondary and higher education. Since then, many initiatives have been set in motion to introduce young people early on to the engineering perspective and the skills that come with it.
The goal?
To prepare young people for a future where collaboration, creative thinking, and problem-solving are key. By integrating technology and design-based learning into secondary education, the transition to further studies and the job market is strengthened.
What has already been achieved?
- 48 lessons developed for various subjects and grade levels, including Nature, Life and Technology (NLT) and Research & Design (O&O).
- Inspiring examples, such as the Elephant Lesson, which connects biology, ethics, and technology and was recently featured in the professional journal Bionieuws.
- A growing community where teachers, researchers, and education professionals collaborate on lesson materials, knowledge sharing, and professional development.
