TRAINING: ‘TEACHING IN THE INTERNATIONAL CLASSROOM’

INSIGHTS FROM WORKSHOP ‘HOW TO BEAT PROCRASTINATION’

On 15 June psychologist Jessica Price gave a 1-day workshop designed to support lecturers, study advisors and counsellors who struggle with procrastinating tendencies of their students. A wide array of topics was covered that day, including: what are the cultural aspects of procrastination and other factors that influence procrastination and  its psychological roots. E-LEARNING PLATFORM FOR INDUSTRIAL INNOVATION

In the CEPHEI project (Cooperative E-learning Platform for Higher Education in Industrial Innovation) a consortium of nine universities joined forces to  build a community of digital learners in university and industry. It aims to develop a cooperative e-learning platform for industrial innovation. University of Twente is one of the partners. Read more…

 

 

 

REFLECTIONS ON FUTURE PROOF ENGINEERING EDUCATION OF MIT AND 4TU

On 17 May, MIT and the 4TU universities presented their own vision on engineering education of the future. In the discussion it became clear that all 5 universities face similar challenges, one of which is assessment. FEAR OF FAILURE AMONGST STUDENTS; WHAT TO DO ABOUT IT?

Fear of failure is one of those issues that teachers and academic advisors are usually confronted with, when they encounter students who express anxiety or worries concerning the prospect of underperforming. In a recently held workshop, participants were given tips and tricks on how to help students. The report is available online.

Internationalisation and cross cultural communication skills are essential for all 4TU engineering students, due to the international student population and international setting they will work in. Coming autumn several free one-day workshops are given at WUR. 4TU lecturers, study advisors and counsellors are welcome to participate in the following workshops:
