Elisa Perrone

I am an Assistant Professor in the Department of Mathematics and Computer Science at TU Eindhoven and a Tenure Tracker of the 4TU DeSIRE program.

My research lies at the intersection between statistics and other fields of mathematics to solve real-world problems in applications. Broadly speaking, I am interested in multivariate statistics and dependence modeling. My research focuses on studying a class of statistical models, called copula models, that describe how various random factors interact with each other. My work involves developing theory and methods of dependence modeling and copulas and working with real data that originate from applied fields, in particular, weather forecasting and environmental sciences.

As an applied mathematician and statistician, I am committed to developing new theory with concrete impact on real-world problems and playing an active role in building novel bridges between different research areas and disciplines. The DeSIRE program and the 4TU Resilience Engineering center create the perfect research environment to establish fruitful multidisciplinary collaborations and further enhance the impact of my work on our society. Within the DeSIRE program, I am developing novel statistical models and methods for accurate prediction, risk assessment, and better design of stable and stronger systems in resilience engineering and related fields.
