Professor Herman Terryn (VUB and TU Delft) will receive the “H.H. Ulhig corrosion award” on 3 October at the conference of the Electrochemical Society in National Harbor (Washingthon).

Herman Terryn will receive corrosion award

Prof. Herman Terryn will receive the H.H. Ulhig corrosion award for his research of the prevention of corrosion of metals. He will receive the award at the conference of the Electrochemical Society in National Harbor (Washingthon),on 3 October 2017. 

In Washington, he will read the following paper: Advanced Experimental and Modelling Approaches to Understand and Predict Better Corrosion of Metals.

Herman Terryn is full professor at the Faculty of Engineering of the University of Brussels (VUB) with a chair in Surface Science and Engineering in the research group Electrochemical and Surface Engineering.

Furthermore, he is part-time professor within the research group Corrosion Technology and Electrochemistry of the Materials Science and Engineering department of the faculty 3mE, TU Delft. 

He is also Cluster Leader of the cluster Durable surfaces of the Materials Innovation Institute (M2i).
