The research scope in 4TU.FSM has a wide span, both from a disciplinary as a methodological perspective. Fluid & Solid Mechanics constitutes a founding branch of science for many scientific and technological application fields. It embraces applied physics, mechanical engineering, maritime technology, chemical engineering, applied mathematics, civil engineering, water management, aerospace sciences and biomedical technology. Within the research project at 4TU.FSM, a plethora of theoretical and numerical methods are developed, applied and validated. The research has a pronounced impact on a variety of applications, serving great societal themes like energy, mobility, health, environment, etc.
