3TU.Centre for Engineering Education established

Wednesday, 30 April 2014
The 3 universities of technology are intensifying their collective efforts to improve engineering training in the Netherlands and to raise its international profile. To do this, the 3TU.Federation has agreed to establish a Centre for Engineering Education (CEE).

The world is in need of more and differently trained engineers who can manage grand societal challenges in the field of energy, safety, health, mobility and environment. Under the guidance of director of education Jan van der Veen of the University of Twente, the CEE will strive to jointly inspire, stimulate, support and disseminate effective and high quality Engineering Education through research and application of evidence-based innovations. These will be bolstered by relevant practical research on a variety of themes, with the results disseminated at home and abroad. The CEE intends to be a leader in its field, the institute of first choice for inquiring, ambitious tutors and scientists from the world of engineering education.

Launch

To give the new centre a flying start, it is currently working on an inspiring launch event on September 22nd 2014 in Delft. Minister of Education, Culture and Science Jet Bussemaker has already pledged to attend this.
You will find full information about the CEE and what it could mean for you soon on the 3TU website.
