Valorisation Management Committee

The Valorization Management Committee is made up of the four portfolio holders Valorisation of the Executive Boards of the Technical Universities. This committee has the duty to shape and supervise the collaboration and planning of the TU's in the field of knowledge valorisation in the center 4TU.IMPACT.

Paul Althuis
Paul Althuis is responsible for technology transfer within the TU Delft and as such director of the Innovation & Impact Centre and two holding companies of the TU Delft: Delft Enterprises and TU Delft Services. He is actively involved in the different innovative ecosystems of TU Delft, i.e. Green Village, YES!Delft, RoboValley, Medical Delta.

Sebastiaan Berendse
Sebastiaan Berendse coordinates and develops WURs activities to generate impact and value added for society. The corporate department includes startup policy (including StartLife & student incubator StartHub), knowledge transfer & IP services, coordination with WR business development, Sharing Research Facilities & Wageningen Campus development, the Science Shop and Wageningen Dialogues.

Jaap Beernink
Jaap Beernink is CEO of Novel-T and director of the holding company of the University of Twente. The UT has placed its valorisation activities and the science shop at Novel-T. The UT is one of the five founders of Novel-T. Novel-T helps students, start-ups, scale-ups and researchers to develop, as well as strengthen the innovative power of regional SMEs and large companies.

Jeroen van Woerden
Jeroen van Woerden is director of The Gate. The Gate is the platform for tech start-ups in the first phase of their existence. The Gate is a partnership between Eindhoven University of Technology, BOM, Fontys, Summa and Brainport Development. Business Development at TU/e is a relevant part of this platform.

Various working groups

Including: 

  • 4TU4Industries: the experts per TU in the field of public-private partnerships;
  • TTT Program Teams: a program director for each program, who supervises and coordinates the consultations and collaboration with business developers from each TU;
  • Entrepreneurship Education & Research: scientists in entrepreneurship education and research;
  • AvT (Technology Drivers): 1 to 2 students per TU, supported by an external agency. Regular coordination with program manager and Secretary, strategy and marketing and communication directors of the TUs;
  • Business Development Team Public Customers: 1 business developer per TU with a good overview of expertise per TU;
  • Challenges Team: stakeholders per TU in challenges and/or student teams;
  • Living Lab: employees involved in setting up living lab communities;
  • Scouting & Guidance: 4 business developers in collaboration with business developer TNO, 2 employees NWO-TTW and representative TechLeap;
  • PhD Entrepreneurship Course: employees involved in stimulating entrepreneurship and guiding start-ups;
  • TTT Bootcamps Teams: program directors of the TTTs, supported by employees from the KTOs;
  • Legal consultation: lawyers of the 4TUs.
