Towards developing a circular sanitation system in slum areas
Delft University of Technology has fielded a team in the ‘Reinvent the Toilet Challenge’ since 2011. The team has developed a self-sufficient sanitation system for small communities in which waste water is cleaned on the spot and urine and faeces are converted to electricity and fertiliser in an omnifuel gasification plant.
