The apartment Concept House is a living lab: a lab to live in – or a home to experiment in. The modern, energyneutral apartment on Rotterdam Heijplaat is filled with technical features and sensors. These keep track of the energy consumption of the various appliances in the home. The apartment is one of the four livings labs built by SusLabNWE in Europe. The houses are specially designed to conduct experiments on energy.
The homes are part of a European research project on energy consumption in the living environment, SusLabNWE. The purpose of the project is to develop hardware, that can encourage people to use less energy. The hardware can be tested in all four living labs.
