Cindy Poortman is the new 4TU.CEE leader of the University of Twente per 1 February. She succeeds Jan van der Veen, who was in this position since the start of the 4TU.Centre for Engineering Education.
Cindy has been working at ELAN department of Teacher Development for 8 years. Her research and teaching focus on teacher and school leader professional development in teams and networks, from primary to higher education. “I have had the opportunity to work together with colleagues with an engineering background in our teacher education programme, our senior university teaching qualification programme and our honours programmes. This has developed my affinity with research into and innovation of engineering education, specifically interdisciplinary and challenge-based education. Engineering education is preparing for an unpredictable future.
Further developing a community of teachers working on that challenge, supporting their ideas for (collaborative) evidence-informed innovation, and recognizing and rewarding teaching, are among the main themes of focus for the coming years at 4TU.CEE UT. I am looking forward to contribute to this.“
