Global warming brings many risks to humanity, for example in agriculture, health and water management. The 4TU.Built Environment research group Climate Adaptation and Mitigation focuses on preventing (or slowing) global warming, and on adapting the built environment to climate change. This includes research topics such as:
- Reduction of CO2-emissions in the built environment, through (recycled) materials
- Generation of renewable energy
- Developing an energy-efficient infrastructure
- Water management
- Improving macro- and microclimate conditions in cities
Next to technical solutions, also the implementation of knowledge and new technologies are being researched.
