Ecosystems of Philosophical Health
In an era marked by shifting paradigms, the concept of "philosophical health" has emerged as a crucial framework for understanding and cultivating human flourishing. Introduced in two books in 2024 (Bloomsbury), this approach offers a holistic perspective on well-being and quality of lives that transcends traditional boundaries between philosophy, psychology, and social sciences. Central to philosophical health is the recognition that our mental and emotional states are deeply entangled with our physical, social, and environmental contexts. Thus, the ecosystem of our philosophical health encompasses not only individual well-being but also the web of relationships and environments that support or hinder this state.

Interaction with intelligent systems
As AI-based machines have become more independent, differentiated and personalised in their performance in relation to humans, the concept of ‘interaction’ has come under increasing critical scrutiny. While in the early days of the discussion it was not uncommon to evaluate our experience of really interacting with intelligent machines as the product of an illusion concerning the capacities of these machines, many scholars today defend a more literal interpretation of human-machine (social) interaction. However, our theories usually target human social interaction, and as such they seem inapplicable to intelligent machines, since we usually don’t ascribe full-blown agency to them. This motivates two sets of questions which the workshop will focus on.
